Oh dear, it’s only one month till Christmas!! If you are like me, and still have lots you want to make, don’t worry! I’ve got some fun ideas for you this month for our last Sew Early For Christmas post of the year!
Before I get started, thanks so much for your well wishes after my last post! I am feeling all better again, and have been getting into my sewing room a bit to sew!
While I haven’t made any of the projects I am going to feature today, I know I will be soon!
Ok, let’s get going with the tutorials!
Travel Bags from Old Shirts
First up is this cool idea from Pam at Threading My Way.. I love how she has repurposed shirts to turn them into travel bags:
If you don’t like making button holes, then this is the bag for you to make!

Lola’s Pot Holders
Ok, this is a golden oldie tutorial by my lovely friend Lola from And Sew On.. who hasn’t blogged in a while…
I stole borrowed used her photo, but I am sure she won’t mind 🙂
I have been meaning to make some of these for how long now? Long. So maybe this will motivate me to get some made up over the next month…

This will be the boost to make me sew them, thanks!

Sorry to hear you were unwell again, I hope you are totally done with that now, and the moving(!) You always post really lovely ideas for Christmas, I can’t really make anything more this year with getting ready to move ourselves, but I still love looking 🙂
Some nice ideas Joy – thank you!
I love that felt embroidered star so hoping that will be at the top of my to do list! I also like the pot holders too and am saving that one for the future. Thank you! Nancy

I’ve just seen your Nifty Novelty Drawstring Bag in my RSS feed. However, when I try to click through to the blog post, it says it can’t be found. So, I’ll comment here instead…
I love the fabric you’ve used. The drawstring ribbon just finishes it off perfectly!!! Thanks for the link backs and so glad you used the tutorial.
