So, in the last post I gave you a summary of what I was up to before we went into isolation…. now here’s a bit of what I’ve done since then….
Pottered around in the garden… since we live in a rental, I am using pots and, yes, a wheelbarrow, to put in some herbs and veggies:
I’ve been spending lots of time in the kitchen…
….doing some preserving.. first I made cucumber relish:
Then I had a kg of strawberries that produced a few jars of jam:
I’ve also been doing a lot of baking… like the rest of the world 🙂
Bread, banana cake, banana muffins with choc chips…
and our favorite savory muffins…
About six months ago (I can’t believe it’s been that long!) I started up with Tupperware again as a consultant, and I’ve been enjoying that these past weeks… You can see I’ve been using some of my new goodies in the photos above 🙂
I haven’t done a lot of sewing, but I am making progress with tidying, sorting and organizing… starting with my sewing table:
I’ve nearly cleared Emmie G as well….. so my plan for this week is to get out some flimsies and start finishing some UFOs! Hmmm… she looks like she’s ready to go to the beach with her sunhat on… who put that there I wonder?!
So, that is my very quick summary of 39 days in isolation so far…. I know that some people are finding that it is going very slowly for them.. but for me, I seem to be as busy as every and the days are flying by….
Now to catch up on some blog reading and sewing…. Hope you are all well and having a lovely weekend…
Lovely to see your sewing space – especially drooled over those wonderful thread holders. I don’t have space for that type but that’s not to say I didn’t wishful think!
Nice to see your posts appearing again…it’s a funny ole world at the moment isn’t it but things seem to be slowly getting better. It sounds like you are keeping busy during this time -your baking looks/sounds delicious! I hope you get the planned quilting done 🙂
Aha, back again. I know you told me of the baking, but lovely to see some photos of it too. Like you I am keeping busy, but it’s all just “strange & surreal”, especially if they keep the 50km travel in till Xmas. We are such a large spread out country, so will make it very hard for a lot of families & friends. I’ve so much to show you when we do finally catch up. Talk soon. Take care, stay safe & hugs.
Glad you are coping well…. I find I am keeping happily busy too….
Hugz
Hi Joy, Your garden is beautiful and your baked goods look so yummy. Glad to be reading your posts again. Take care, Nancy
I’ve been a bit slack on reading blogs lately – I certainly don’t have any of this extra free time that some do – still working so that might be why!!!
I’m sure once you get into it – Emmie G will be busy!
Like you I have found the time to be going fast, blessed to have a work at home business and lots of fabric to play with! Good to be baking, and wonder how long before the borders will be opened?
It is good to stay busy, and you’ve done a lot. I wanted to learn to do some canning, I need to get some fruit and give it a go. We that have hobbies are faring a bit better during this trying time.
What lovely gardening and baking you have done. And Emmie G’s state is looking very promising….. looking forward to seeing some UFOs getting the Emmie G treatment. Stay safe! xx
I know what you mean Joy. I can’t believe how busy I am. Working two days a week from home, chipping weeds in the paddock, cooking, cleaning, gathering firewood and then a SAL with Sue Daley, KAL with Stolen Stitches and a cross stitch I’ve started. There are a hundred things whirling in my brain that I want to make. Your baking looks lovely and I’m sure very much appreciated. Looking forward to seeing your makes. Xx
