I thought I’d save our parade of scrappy quilts till tomorrow, to give a few people a bit more time to post their quilt tops since we are a fair bit ahead in time here in Australia…
Today was a rainy day and I couldn’t get out to take a pic of my quilt border progress… so inside had to do:
Looks a bit funny because the light from the window is shining through.. but you get the picture 🙂
I’m madly sewing a scrappy border now – let’s see what the weather is like tomorrow -if I can take a photo outside or not!
I’ve also been helping a friend finish a UFO…. she had finished quilting it, and made the binding, but then didn’t know what to do… so I trimmed up the quilt…
I just love how a quilt looks when it just gets trimmed, don’t you?
Then I started sewing on the binding… and hit a little snag right at the end…
Seriously, just a few inches short!!! Luckily she gave me some extra fabric so I added a bit and now it is ready to finish off by hand:
I love the garden fabric in the quilt… I bought it in Arabia and gave it to her… I wish I had more, but it is nice to see it put to good use.
In other news…
My chookies have started laying me some yummy eggs!
And that’s it for today!
I’ll be back tomorrow with the parade of scrappy quilts! Thanks to all who have already sent me pics, etc. If you want to send me a pic of yours still, just leave a comment and I will reply to it so that you have my email 🙂
OR
You can join my NEW Facebook group (I had to start a whole new account because they shut the last one down) and post your pics in there for me to share here on the blog too!
Till tomorrow,
Ahhh, fresh eggs! My quilt top is done-waiting for my quilting queue to make room for it! lol
Thanks for the mystery quilt. I shared a photo of mine on my guilds Facebook page with a link to your blog and I think a few more of these scrappy mysteries will be made by the group.
Yay for the eggs! We just got some gots this week and as soon as hubby gets a chicken coop built we’ll add some egg layers! I started making this quilt along but only got as far as making the scrappy 9 patches. This is a great scrap buster for sure! I need to finish!
Thanks for the journey, it’s a very striking design. I’ve used 9 blocks (3 ready for another) to be given to Mary Potter Hospice. They have size requirements, & they brighten the clinical look of hospitals. 🌺
Mine is ready for the border now, so will try & take a photo, maybe now before border & then after. Like you the rain hampered my efforts for a photo yesterday. I’ve fresh eggs too from DD who came across on Wednesday. It was so exciting seeing some of the family. Take care, stay safe & hugs.
Your quilt reminds me of a stained glass window (and not just because there was some light shining through in the photo). Fresh eggs – mmmmm.
I agree.
I just finished mine and blogged about it. Thanks for doing this; it was fun.
