Here we are at the end of the Bee Happy Quiltalong!
Today we are going to start the last steps – sewing the blocks together and adding borders!
Sewing the Bee Happy Blocks Together
There isn’t much explanation needed for these last steps… Since my design wall is inaccessible at the moment, I laid my blocks out on the the table. This is how we will be sewing them together:
It’s basically just a giant nine patch 🙂
I am still working on the applique of the yellow wings, and the candlewicking. Shouldn’t take too long and I’ll head back to the sewing room after I post this.
Borders on the Sew Happy Quilt
I am planning to put a white 3 1/2″ border around the quilt:
Once that is on, I will decide if I want to put another border on… I think I won’t with the scrappy one, but I will with the yellow and blue one because I have a lot of the nine patch fabric and it will make it a little bit bigger…
I should have it sewn up this weekend and will be back on Monday with a pic of the top done…. and maybe the scrappy one? Let’s see… I also need to load the circle quilt so I will see how I go!

Have a lovely weekend!
It looks good so far & I wish I’d joined in, but I still may make one at some time, though now I need to start the next baby quilt & keep working in the garden (although not today as it is chucking it down) so I’ve veg over summer. Can you get frozen peas? I’ll ring this afternoon. Can we see the scrappy one please. Take care & hugs.
It’s going to look lovely…..

It looks great Joy! Sunshine-y and happy, which is what we certainly need more of these days.
These blocks are brimming with bright sunshine and happiness. Love the hint of pattern on the background fabric.
I love that it has space to add beautiful quilting when the top is done.
Hi Joy, this was such a lovely sewalong. Your instructions and pictures are great! I’d like to think that one day in the near future I’ll get to this myself.
