Welcome to Block 1 of the new Let’s Stay Home Block of the Month for 2021! This first block is called, Let’s Stay Home and Sew!
I’m so excited to be sharing the first block with you, and thought the most obvious block to start with was the “Let’s Stay Home and Sew” one!
Every month there will be another ‘Let’s Stay Home and…. ” something we do at home”…
Given how often we had to stay home last year, and for many around the world still needing to stay home, I really wanted to have a block of the month that was about that – but in a positive way…. staying at home does not need to be boring!
I am naturally a stay at home type of person… so I have enjoyed mostly being home. I have enjoyed pottering around the house, with less pressure to go out… Of course the best thing to be able to do at home is sit in my sewing room and sew!!!
The stitchery for this block is based on our “In The Sewing Room Embroidery Collection” that is now up for sale in our shop! If you like this block, you may like all the other designs that go with it…
Remember, this block is only up for one month, and then it will go in our shop for a small price.
I’ve decided this year to let you see the how each block is placed in the quilt top… I haven’t done borders yet, but here is the layout of the nine blocks, with Let’s Stay Home and Sew in its correct spot:
All the white squares will eventually be filled up with stitcheries…
And as we go, my design wall will get a little fuller… for now it just has the first block…
Well, that’s it… I hope you like this block and can join in! Please do let me know if you have any questions or if I have made any mistakes in the pattern 🙂
Also, don’t forget to check out Susan’s Let’s Stay Home QAL – her first block is due to go up next Monday, but you can already do a fabric pull for it!
Till next time, stay home and sew 🙂
Very cute! And really like the layout planned.
Thank You, this block is adorable!!

I am a homebody too.
UP & running again & I do like that block & have decided to use a special lot of fat quarters someone gave me when we first met in person, after being blogpals for sometime. (smile).
Take care & hugs.
