This is going to be a photo heavy post… as I give you a peek at how my week has been…
Autumn is well and truly here, with the leaves changing color…
.. and the days getting colder…. Sapphy has decided it is nice to sit on my lap in the mornings… and while I look over my planner to see what is on for the day, she starts her daily cleaning routine….
and then snuggles up and keeps my legs warm….
You might be able to see on my April Goals planner page that I actually managed to finish something!!! (By the way, the May planning pages are all available for download)
Having finished a quilt was all thanks to a Skype sewing date with my bestie Alice, in the US.. and not to Sapphy.. although she did attempt to get in on the action:
I had to kick her off the chair so that I could finish working on the batik quilt….
Alice and I sewed from 10.30 pm till 1 am my time!!! It was so much fun to chat and sew, and the internet behaved for both of us thankfully… I did finish the quilt but haven’t taken any photos yet, will do that this weekend.
Earlier in the week I worked on some freezer meals…
And harvested the potatoes…
I was so pleased – I have put two sprouting potatoes in the ground quite late in the season, and still got 2 kilos in return!
I’ll be doing that again next summer for sure!
I also harvested the last of the cucumbers, and tomatoes…
It’s now time to pull them all out and plant some winter veggies…
So that is what I have been up to!
In other news….
Don’t forget to download the 2nd block of “Let’s Stay Home”…
My sweet friend Vivian has already finished hers:
I love the scrappy fabrics she is using!
If you missed block 1, you can get it HERE.
Well that is it for today.. I hope you have a lovely weekend!
What a cute and sweet helper you have. I’m still always amazed at how when spring flowers and trees are budding here, that it’s fall and starting to get cooler there! Your veggies look good. I remember growing up going to the garden and digging up fresh potatoes and Mama making a big pot of them. They were so good!!
Your potatoes look fantastic. Autumn is my favorite season, but us here in Northwest Pennsylvania USA I’m glad winter is behind us and spring has finally come. Your kitty is adorable!
Sapphy could be my Bella‘s twin in appearance and behavior! It’s exciting to see your harvest, especially as here in Canada I am excited about seeing my peas and beets pop up and hoping for potatoes to sprout soon after yesterday‘s more than 2” of rain
Sapphy looks very comfortable on your lap & the chair, and it was good to hear about the Skype meeting going well & finishing the Batik quilt. A photo near the lake at Burrumbeet would make a great hero shot.? You did well with your produce last season , better than mine. I’m going to try & get my little Woollies veg, ‘Pots of fun’ started next week in my mini greenhouse. We definitely need a few sewing days to plan in for the coming months? Take care & hugs.
It’s supposed to be spring here – but as I look out my window right now, it’s snowing. Have to love spring in Canada! Your potatoes look amazing and so much fun to see pictures of Sapphy. I remember when she was a kitten!
How pretty the changing leaves look! Nice last harvests from your garden–I love fresh potatoes! My kitty has decided that a great way to get attention is to sit in my sewing chair, too!
Loved your post Joy filled with photos of your life. Here in British Columbia, Canada spring has more or less arrived and all of my gardening friends are busy in their yards.
Great to have had a fun sewing day/night …. I love the batiks and wonderful veges you are harvesting….
Hugz
Thanks for your week peek. Loving spring time here.
