On Monday night, Alice and I got together again for a Skype Sewing session… and we both worked on our Quiltalong quilt tops…
I’m pretty pleased that we are starting to “get together” again regularly… we haven’t done that for years… now seems to be the right time to start up again, and we are actually getting things done!
Alice was working on her version of my Scrappy Quiltalong from last year and she got all the blocks together:
Doesn’t it look great!! This is how I’ll be putting together my Christmas version…
While Alice was working on her blocks… I was working on my second version of the quiltalong…
Sapphy helped of course…
I ended up changing the block a lot, and then put it together totally different too….
I am going to put on a white inner border, and then do scrappy blocks as an outer border…. and it will probably be my camping quilt… 🙂
More Quiltalongs
I was talking to Susan from Granny Smith Quilting a few weeks back, and she said she wanted to join in on the Bedding Plants Quiltalong hosted by Jo Avery… I looked at it and it is really cute… so I decided I would join in too 🙂 And then I told Alice… and she is joining in as well….!
We both bought the books, and we’ve picked out fabric, so more on that next week.
I’ve also joined a mystery QAL with a friend from NZ, and I’m not allowed to tell anyone about it… until it is done! So, hopefully in 8 weeks you will see the result of that!
Last, but not least, I am starting a fun QAL on Friday…. for anyone who wants to join in…. so stay tuned for the first block in a few days!
Linking with Midweek Makers
Very pretty quilt. I love the HSTs in the corner of the block, makes it look almost like a huge snowball block!! Both are very pretty in the scrappy colors.
Beautiful quilts and a very beautiful helper.
Both scrappy QAL quilts look good and funny how we’ve all set them slightly different. I’ve sort of pulled some fabric for the Bedding Plants quilt so will have to get myself into gear, but I’ve been trying to finish the 2 Follow Your own Path quilts for Sandra’s QAL which finishes on 15th of this month. We may even be able to get across to see you if all goes well. Look forward to seeing what you have planned for the next QAL. Take care & hugs.
I bought the book for the Bedding Plants but until we unpack next week I can’t think about fabric so I will be starting late. Your scrappy quilts look great
Hi Joy, Sounds like so much fun quilting with Alice. Must be your energy is doing much better. We just got an 8 week old beagle puppy so that is taking our energy. Hoping i can get her house trained soon. Enjoy your cheerful quilts. Nancy
I’ve been meeting two different friends on Facebook Chat throughout the pandemic and it’s great to be able to spend time with them. One of them knits during our chats but the other simply chats…I either knit or crochet. They have certainly helped me get through all the stay-at-homeness of the pandemic. Both those quilts look amazing….I love scrap quilts the best I think.
I love the ways we found to ‘connect’ with others, even when we weren’t able to do so in person! lol The QAL’s are a great way to connect! I’m interested to join in on your QAL again this year!
