Christmas in July 2021 Plan
Every Monday I’ll give you one clue for the Scrappy Christmas Mystery QAL…. and at the end of the month we will have a lovely scrappy table topper!
On Wednesdays I’ll be sharing links to Christmas recipes, tutorials and will have some free printables for you….
And on Fridays we’ll be doing a Mug Rug-a-long! I think I may have made word that up… but it should be fun – a different mug rug every Friday!
The goal for this month is to get a head start on Christmas prep… and to use up our Christmas scraps!
Ok, so that is the plan. Keep in mind that I am moving house, so the plan may change!
Scrappy Christmas Mystery QAL Overview
I have a bunch of Christmas scraps left over from a jelly roll and layer cake that I used for these projects:
Christmas Hexagon Table Topper
Christmas Ornament Wallhanging
Christmas Placemats with Pockets
and
Wow, listing all those projects out makes me realize how much I have made from just a jelly roll and layer cake…. and I still have lots left!
So that is what I will be using for this QAL.
What will we be making?
We’re making a square scrappy Christmas table Topper that will be around 36″ finished. It could also be used as a tree skirt.
SCRAPPY CHRISTMAS MYSTERY QAL- What you need
Christmas scraps!! Mostly 2 1/2″ squares.
2 yards of background fabric (I am using white)
SCRAPPY CHRISTMAS MYSTERY QAL PART 1
Cut out THIRTY-SIX 2 1/2″ squares… and sew them together to make a 12 1/2″ block!
Easy… simple… just how I like my QALs to be 🙂 And a good start to using up those Christmas scraps!!
If you are on Facebook or Instagram, I will be posting more Christmas fun there, so be sure to follow me and join our “At Home With Joy” Facebook group!
See you back here on Wednesday!
On your mark, get set, go! Looks like fun;: I’ll play along!
Perfect timing for me as I’m in-between projects and could use a fun mystery to get my Christmas scraps out of hiding! Yep, count me in and I’ll be humming some Christmas carols too!
I am going to try and do this! I have so many scraps!
Looks like a fun project Joy – I’m happily engrossed in making advent calendars so I won’t be playing along but I’m going to have fun watching to see what everyone does.
Even I might be able to do this! I’ve posted it on QuiltBOM for you, too.
Sounds like fun, but alas, I don’t have a lot of Christmas scraps! Plus I have at least four projects going right now!! I’ve got to get some of them finished for my PHD!! LOL
