Welcome to our first Mug Rug-along, where we’ll be stitching a snowflake…. on a Mug Rug… of course!
I’m digging into my Christmas scraps for all of our Mug Rugs this month… and I am hoping that by the end of the month, my scrap pile will have dwindled…..
No chit chat today, let’s dive right in…
What you need for the Snowflake Mug Rug
You will need three scraps of Christmas fabric, cut as follows:
One 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangle
One 1″ x 6 1/2″ rectangle
One 6 1/2″ square
Piecing for the SNOWFLAKE MUG RUG
Sew all three pieces together like this:
To make this:
Don’t worry if yours is a little wonky like mine above…. we will trim up later 🙂
The Stitchery for the SNOWFLAKE MUG RUG
Trace the stitchery onto the 6 1/2″ square of fabric:
And we’re all set to stitch! I am using two strands of White (Blanc) DMC thread.
I’ll be stitching this up over the weekend… finishing instructions will be up later in the month!
I will be sharing my progress in our Facebook Group “At Home With Joy” – if you aren’t already a member, just click the link, answer the questions, and you’ll be approved
Happy Stitching and have a lovely weekend!

Might just make two of these for our cuppas. I’ve so much on the go at the moment with your QALs & the Bedding Plants that I wasn’t going to join, but I like this, so I’ll draw up 2 later today & make a start. Thanks, take care & hugs.
So sweet! I like the colors you have chosen, too!
What a cute idea! These would make perfect gifts, particularly if they were accompanied by a pretty mug with perhaps some hot chocolate packets tucked inside.
