Just popping in real quick to tell you about this Christmas Hearts Fundraiser that I have on for the month of July….
If you are on my newsletter list, you will have already heard of this last weekend, but I also wanted to put it out there on my blog.
Many of you may know Susan from Desert Sky Quilting. She has been a long time blog friend of mine, and is very active in our quilting blogging community.
In case you haven’t seen her Quilt Block of the Month blog, you need to check it out! She updates it regularly with news of QALs, BOMs and other mostly free events in the quilting blogworld.
The last few posts Susan put up are full of Christmas in July fun, so have a look and see if there is anything you want to join in on or save for another day!
The reason I am writing this post and putting on a fundraiser is because Susan was diagnosed with cancer recently, and has started treatment.
The quilting community is a very generous one… We are always ready to make a quilt and give it away, but as I said in my newsletter, Susan doesn’t need quilts at the moment, she needs help for her medical bills….
Susan’s son has set up a Go Fund Me page for us to donate towards her treatment costs… and I am also giving all of the funds from the sale of the Christmas Hearts pattern this month towards that….
In summary… there are two ways you can help Susan out….
- Donate at the Go Fund Me page… it doesn’t need to be a lot, every little bit helps!
- Buy Christmas Hearts and I will donate ALL proceeds this month to Susan’s Go Fund Me!
I’d like to say thank you to all of you who have already bought the Hearts pattern and those who have donated… it is greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much for letting me know about Susan. She has always been very supportive. Praying for her and her family as she goes through this treatment.
Such a sweet way to help a friend!
Thank you, Joy! That’s very generous, and your friends are responding because there are names I don’t know on the donor list. =) I’m doing well in treatment and improving, so I am feeling very positive about things.
