I had a few problems with my top…. the first one being the pressing…
I know I have at least 4 regular irons… but do you think I could find any of them?! Thankfully I found my travel iron and used it…
It works, but it isn’t great for pressing a whole quilt top… so before I quilt it, I will need to find one of my normal irons!
Ah the joys of moving!
My second problem is glaringly obvious to me…. and maybe to you… Despite trying very hard not to get the same squares next to each other… I did… By the time I saw it, it was way too late to change, and I am leaving it as is, because once it’s on my table, no one is going to notice.
And if they do… I will tell them to hush!!
Ok, on with the finishing instrucitons!
Putting the Scrappy Mystery QAL Blocks together
Putting the blocks together really doesn’t need an explanation, but here goes anyway..
Putting It together Step 1
Place the blocks like this, and sew the three blocks in each row together:
Putting It together Step 2
Sew the rows together:
And the top is done!
Like I said, it needs a good press when I finally find an iron…
I put it on our little kitchen table to see what it would look like…
I think it has turned out quite nicely! Plenty of white space to quilt some pretty designs…. but I need to get Emmie G set up before I can do that!
Thank you everyone who joined in! I hope you enjoyed this QAL and would love to see photos of your finished top!
Have a lovely weekend!
Oh, such perfection!!! Now to get your quilting machine up and going to finish it!!!!
I love it, Joy! And it is perfect for your table!! Looking forward to see what you do with the quilting when Emmie G is up and running!!
Looks wonderful Joy & love how it looks on your table. Hugs, xx
I was wrong and nothing at all surprising about that! I didn’t envision this finish and I have to say I like it far more than what I had thought it was going to be. Looks great on your table (and, as a side note, I’ve searched for the ‘offending’ piece and can’t find it so I don’t suppose you’ll need to tell people to hush!).
Thank you for sewing along. The tablecloth is very nice. Can you give the measurements? I think I’d like to do it next month if I have the time.
Sorry for my bad English.
Kind regards from Germany

Hi Guilitta!
Thank you for your kind comment! I tried to email you, but it bounced…
The table topper is 37″ x 37″. I hope you get a chance to make it one day, and your English is much better than my German!!
lv,
Joy xx

This is gorgeous Joy, I wish I’d had the time to join in!!
It turned out great! I love what you did and look forward to making one myself as I come back to normal.
