I was going to say I was getting ready for spring planting, but tomorrow is summer… so I’m a little late!!
Where we live, we need to plant a little later than in Melbourne, but even so, I am very late….
I did a nice big order of seeds from the Diggers Club about a month ago, and it took about three weeks to arrive… I could say that is why I am late, but really, I’ve just been so busy with other things around the house…
I FINALLY finished unpacking all the kitchen boxes – yay me! So now my kitchen and lounge are looking lovely!
I still have boxes to unpack in my studio and study… but at least the main living areas are neat and tidy….
So, doing anything in the garden has taken a back seat. But when my seeds arrived, I had to take them over to Annie’s to show her….
Of course Annie’s garden is looking as lovely as ever…
These poppies just popped up from seed…
I told Annie to save me some seeds so I can have poppies popping up next year too!
Annie’s mum is 90 years old, and in charge of the veggie garden…..
It’s also looking good, with zucchini already starting to grow:
Oh boy, I really am behind with my veggie garden!
But maybe the real reason I had to go see Annie was to see her new baby….
I did try to take him home… but Annie was very possessive.. funny that!
It was lovely to chat and catch up with Annie and her mum over a cuppa – so nice not to be in lockdown anymore!
On the weekend we had a big tidy up, but Sunday and Monday didn’t go quite as planned with me having to take DD to emergency… long story short, she has gallstones and will need to have surgery… shes’ not looking forward to that, but at least we know why she’s been in so much pain the past three weeks.
Well, I’m off to bed.. it’s late… I’ll be back late in the week with the winners of the giveaway...
Sounds like you had a lovely visit – which we all need.
This was a nice catch-up post! I love the raised beds for a garden-I would love to have some! The poppies are amazing-I’ve never seen them like that!
So happy to see you are visiting with your friends again. Annie’s garden is lovely. Those poppies are amazing. My mom used to call any flower that just came up “volunteers” because they volunteered to be there and she didn’t have to plant them! LOL Have fun planting your garden and enjoy your summer – as we head into winter! My bones do not like cold weather, but thankfully it doesn’t get too cold here – not like up north.
Glad you were able to have a visit with friends. Amazing that Annie’s mom is in charge of the veggie garden! Poppies are gorgeous. I love that they reseed themselves. Cute puppy, I would love to take him home too. Enjoy your week.
It is nice to see springtime there. We are in winter, cold and snow in the ground and still flurrying. Ugh! Enjoy your summer!!
Great to hear you are making good progress with your unpacking!! Annie’s garden is lovely (as is her new baby) – good luck with your own growing! Best wishes to your DD.
Do hope DD will be OK & I’ll ring to find out more. Gorgeous garden & mine is way behind too with this lousy Spring we’ve just had. Oh, the puppy is absolutely the sweetest & I could definitely become a dognapper. (just kidding). Take care & hugs.
So sorry your DD is facing surgery – hopefully all goes well.
Enjoyed seeing the garden photos but then….oh then…..that puppy! Instant love!!!
What a lovely garden and great to be visiting….. Poor DD – I know the pain they give so sympathise with her….
Hugz
Hope DD is soon on the mend, glad you are now able to get out and visit
