Our year started off with a lovely celebration! So I will start my catch up posts with the the best part of the year so far!
My niece from Brisbane got engaged last year… and since then all the family down here in Victoria have been on tenderhooks wondering if QLD would open their borders, if we could get border passes, or PCR tests, or RAT tests… We were pretty much left guessing till a week before the wedding….. but thankfully early Jan we were on a plane to Brissie!
Flying there and back reminded me about how much I hate travelling and how little I miss it! But it was well worth it to attend the wedding 🙂
We rented a two bedroom apartment in the city, with a river view…
It reminded us a bit of living in Arabia… minus the river of course 🙂
We had a little lounge and dining area, and kitchen so we could cook what we liked…
It was nice to have as a “home base” while we were up there…
But on to the wedding…. it was lovely!
They were married in a lovely old church in the city…
The bride and bridesmaids looked beautiful… look at Emily’s hair:
I do try to keep faces off my blog as much as I can for privacy reasons – but we all did have to wear masks for most of the wedding…
As well as making the beautiful welcome sign above, my sister made the pretty wedding favors:
Emily is studying optometry, so if we couldn’t read the thank you card, we were instructed to go make an appointment with her!
It was lovely to catch up with family and friends whom we hadn’t seen for years thanks to the pandemic… and the whole day went so well! We were so happy we managed to get up there to be part of their special day….
Great that you got to Brissie, it’s certainly a strange old world we are living in, and so hard to plan much ahead. Lovely photos.
So glad you were able to travel to the wedding. It looks lovely. Though I’m not a “city gal” (LOL) the view from your apartment was awesome!! Catching up with family is always a great thing!
What a beautiful day! the view from your appt was lovely, too. Nice job on all of the table decorations–cute idea of the eye test! Glad you could go, too!
Wonderful that you were able to travel, and attend. It sounds like you really enjoyed it. Everything looks so beautiful – the eye-test chart was a fun idea!
Looks like a very special wedding, so beautiful, fully of love and fun. I’m glad you were able to join the celebration.
Glad you were able to attend the wedding.
Glad you could attend the wedding. The bride’s hair is so beautiful. Wearing masks are no fun but better be safe than sorry. So nice you had rented the little apartment for your home base while there. Nancy
Was lovely to hear that you made it up north & the day went well. Take care & hugs.
Fabulous Joy, so glad it all went ahead…. looks like you had good weather for your stay too…..

So nice to be able to get away I’m sure. Seeing family, friends and people (even masked) would have been wonderful. Such a beautiful bride and your sister rocked the sign and wedding favours. 😉
How lovely you got to go to her wedding…….
Such a beautiful bouquet, too. I’m so glad you got to go!
