Monday This and That… on a Tuesday 🙂
I somehow forgot it was Monday yesterday… so we’re a bit late here!!
LAST WEEK’S THIS AND THAT
Last week once again did not go according to plan… I spent Wednesday night at the ER ~again~ with DD who was having her third gallstone attack in a week. They sent her home with pain meds ~again~ and murmurs of sympathy but nothing else. She is on the waiting list for surgery and until it’s her turn she just has to suffer apparently. At the moment she can only drink protein shakes – anything else, even a plain potato, seems to set her off.
I have to say that our public health care system in town has gone downhill. Waiting 8 hours in emergency is crazy… and some people were waiting longer. DD was born in that hospital 25 years ago, and although the population has almost doubled, the emergency department is still the same. We really need another public hospital, but like that will happen anytime soon. Not much we can do about it, except get frustrated.
Rant Over.
On with last week…
I got the binding machine sewn on Jean’s quilt:
Now it is next to my chair in the lounge room while I do the rest by hand. It is going a little bit slower because the fabric she gave me was some sort of blend, and it is hard getting the needle through… but I don’t mind doing binding and I will get there.
I sewed up Canning Time:
It was the easiest block so far, and no unpicking needed – amazing!

Thank you to everyone who joined in last week!
Do you want to join in? I’m trying a different format this week, please let me know if you have any trouble putting a photo in! I know last time I tried this it didn’t work… I hope it does this time!
You don’t need to have your post formatted the same way as I do, but you can if you want… Just link your blog post containing a recap of last week, or the weekend, or your plans for this week…. or any bit of this and that you want to share with us!
Sorry for DD, I know how painful it is. the surgery is wonderful and felt like a new person. I think I waited 9 months and got in because there was a cancellation. Love the canning block….
Hugz
I feel so badly for your DD – it seems like the medical system is falling short on so many fronts these days. Staffing is an issue with so many quitting because they’re quite simply burned out. Couple that with the extreme backlog of surgeries and treatments that were put on hold due to the pandemic and it’s a perfect storm with patients suffering because of it. I hope your daughter soon gets relief.
I suffered with gall bladder issues for years–DD will feel beteter without it soon, I hope!
I’m so sorry your DD is suffering. I agree with you regarding our health care system. Your canning jar blocks are so cute!
Your poor daughter!!
Love your canning jars – that is going to be cute!!!
