This week’s Monday This and That comes to you from the north of Australia, where I am visiting my sister for a few days!
Today is my Dad’s 80th Birthday! The plan was that he and mum would go up to Cairns to celebrate the special day at my sister’s house…. then my brother decided to head up too.. and I thought, sheesh, I’d better go as well!!
So I booked a ticket and then it was a case of keeping it a secret from Dad, because I wanted to surprise him… I couldn’t say a thing on my blog because he reads it, and there were a few times where one of us nearly gave it away!
In the end, I was here at my sister’s house waiting for them to arrive from the airport, and his reasponse?
“I knew it!!!”
LOL, he had his suspicions, but I still think we did a pretty good job of organizing it!
I flew with Virgin, and boy was it busy! The start of school holidays is not a great time to travel!
The flight from Melbourne to Cairns is around three and a half hours. I kept myself occupied by reading some kindle books and starting my granny squares. I had downloaded the YouTube video tutorial Lori Holt made a couple of years ago to refresh my memory, and hooked along with her on the plane:
I brought along the little sampler set of chunky thread, perfect for travelling!
It’s the first time I’m working with her thread and I really like it… pity it’s so hard to get hold of!
When I arrived at my sister’s I was greeted by this cutie:
His name is Traffy and he will help me not miss Loki as much this week 🙂
So this week’s Monday This and That will not be quite as normal and there will be no To Do Tuesday tomorrow because guess what? I am not cooking this week… and not doing anything!!!!! Ok, maybe I’ll do some granny squares 🙂 But not much else!
Do you want to join in on Monday This and That?
You don’t need to have your post formatted the same way as I do, but you can if you want… Just link your blog post containing a recap of last week, or the weekend, or your plans for this week…. or any bit of this and that you want to share with us!
