Time to look at how things went last week.. and to plan this week!
Last Week’s This and That
I was out a lot last week… I really don’t like going out because it means I get less done around the home… I did, however, manage to make a beautiful jar of strawberry jam….
While I was making the jam, I decided to multitask and work on the Beautiful Day blocks at the same time, doing them as leaders and enders:
I don’t usually do well with leaders and enders, but I am trying to “train” myself to get used to them… and so far so good this time… although I didn’t quite get them finished, I do have them up to this stage:
Shouldn’t take too long to finish them now, and I had to chuckle when I saw they were churn dashes 🙂 Good thing I’m not sick of them yet!
Florence is ready to applique!
Which means all chookies are now ironed down and it’s time to pick thread and start the applique process! I will do a post soon with a pic of them all on the design wall… I really have enjoyed this SAL!
Ok, now let’s look at last week’s to do….

IN THE Garden
It’s the last month of winter, and I’m starting to think about what I want to plant for the summer. With the crazy food prices I really want to grow as much as I can this year. So with that in mind this week I want to:
Plant veggies in pots
Plant herbs in pots
Sort seeds
Start some seedlings
Monday Menu Plan:
Got a lot of outside appointments again this week, so will use some freezer meals…
Monday – Roast Chicken
Tuesday – Out for dinner with friends
Wednesday – Roast Pork
Thursday – Leftovers
Friday – Chicken Chasseur from freezer
Saturday – Cottage Pie from freezer
Sunday –Leftovers
i hope you all have a wonderful week! Share your plans with us and link below 🙂

It’s so hard to get things done when you are gone a lot–I have one of those weeks ahead of me!The Jam Jar block is so cute!
Love your chicken and jam blocks, Joy! I may have to order her chicky templates! LOL They are just too cute. I’d love to deck them out in some of my Island Batik “scraps!” I hope you have a great week.
I just love that jam jar! And I can’t wait to see the cute chickens all done up.
I’m bad with leaders and enders and also trying to get used to them…. I either forget to use them or I get impatient and just sew the pieces!

Although you say not much done, that is a “lot”. I’m enjoying seeing your progress and I’m also thinking veg garden & have at least dug one over, did a spot of pruning of the blueberries & have carrots from last year springing to life & a few tiny silverbeet seedlings. Leaders & enders? Not sure about them so must ask what they entail. Have a good week, take care & hugs.
That jam jar is adorable! Thanks for linking with Sew & Tell. 🙂
I think your strawberry jam was a whole lot more successful than my/our attempt to make sweet tomato jam this morning. For some reason it’s refusing to set so if it doesn’t oblige overnight I’ll have to reboil and add more pectin tomorrow to see if I can make it set.
