Using the GO! Rag Die to make Raggedy Dishcloths and Pot Holders

One of my favorite Accuquilt dies is the GO! Rag Die (affilate link)… and I chose that die to make last month’s project.
I remember making my first ever rag quilt… and how sore my hands were after I cut the fridge, I mean fringe (thanks Judy!), in all those blocks! So when I saw that Accuquilt had a die with all those bits already cut, I bought it right away! And a year later I actually bought another as a spare, that’s how much I love t!
I have used the die a lot since I bought it.. for rag quilts to rag rugs… and this month I thought I’d try something different.
You know you can never have enough dishcloths in the kitchen… and I needed some more. At first I thought I would knit or crochet some, but I needed them in a hurry…
So I put my thinking cap on and decided to use my rag die!
I used some of the leftover fat quarters of Lori Holt’s Cookbook fabric (affiliate link), it’s so cute… and I started with the dishcloths:
They were so quick and easy to make, and great to use!
I then thought I’d make some matching pot holders – another thing you can never have enough of!
These are also quick and easy to make, and I think would make lovely gifts.
If you don’t have this die, you can buy it in Australia HERE!
Or you can buy it in the US HERE (aff link) (it’s on special at the moment)
Next week I’ll have another project to share with you using this die… like I said, it’s one of my favorites!
I hope you are having a great week!
How did I miss August post of Gingerbread House?
I forgot to thank you for the potholder pattern. Thanks a lot.
This is a fantastic idea! I bought this die many years ago as my granddaughter wanted to make a rag quilt. She has made several now. I think she will love to make some dishcloths and potholders for herself as she goes off to live in residence at university. Thank you for the ideas.
Hey! Very clever!
A great idea Joy, as I vowed never to make another quilt like that after the cutting and sore hands also. (I do hope you meant cutting the fringe and did not cut into your fridge?? LOL)
Never seen that die before and looks interesting, but then I know very little about GO cutters. Like what you’ve done & next time we’re over, you’ll have to show me. Take care and hugs.
That is a great idea for the potholders! Are you on the Accuquilt and Beyond facebook group? If not you should join and post this there, they would love it!!
I’m afraid I don’t know too much about the use of dies but have to say what you’ve created here is really cute!
Great idea and they look so cute.
