Last week while I was travelling, my October post for AccuQuilt Australia went live – an Appliqued Seed Keeper!
What is an appliqued seed keeper, you might ask? Well, that was the best name I could come up with for it, so read on to find out!
An Appliqued Seed Keeper
In Australia it is Spring, so the perfect time to get our seeds organized. I have tons of packets and they are usually sitting in a basket all mixed up. I thought, maybe like the tea bag wallets and the passport wallet, I could make something similar to keep my seeds in! And so an idea was born…
I was really pleased with how this project turned out 🙂 It’s not only pretty, but practical.
Of course one downside to this seed keeper is that you can only keep 8 packets of seeds in it… so I will have to make more for my whole collection!
But, it is also a great gift idea! How about for a birthday or Christmas for friends or family?
I used the gorgeous QUBE Specialty Set – Serendipity by Editya Sitar for the applique on the front, and various other dies for the rest.

The instructions to make this Appliqued Seed Keeper is on the Accuquilt Australia website.
You can buy this die in Australia HERE.
You can buy this die in the US HERE – it’s on an AMAZING special right now!
I am seriously thinking about hosting a block of the month using this die set next year… but I will think about that a bit more when I get home from my travels….
I can’t wait till I get back to start putting in my spring veggie garden, but until then I am going to enjoy my time away!
Today we are going on a road trip to a gorgeous little village about an hour away. I will be sure to take lots of photos to share with you later in the week!
Till then, go and grab the free pdf pattern for the sweet Seed Keeper! And I’d love to know if you have this die and would be interested in a block of the month with it next year…. let me know in the comments or email me 🙂
Oh, how cute is that?!
This is a great idea! Almost makes me wish we still had a garden so I could save seeds.
Lovely idea and what I need, though no seed planting or gardening due to all this wet weather.
Thanks for the pattern, take care & hugs.
