Just a quick Monday This and That today because the internet where I’m staying for a few days isn’t great….
The past two weeks were spent in Germany with my Uncle and his wife…. while I would never want to live there, it most certainly is a beautiful country and I have lots of photos to show you… once I get to my next stop with better internet 🙂
We did a couple of day trips which I’ll post about later in the week, but for now I wanted to share these fun photos with you of a cafe in one of the little towns we visited…
Not sure why I took that photo above so crooked, but you get the idea 🙂
I saw a lot of places that were using painted pallets to advertise things or just as decorations…
But I thought this was really different…
I sent these pictures to DH and told him when I got home I was going to pick up some pallets off the side of the road, paint them and put them in our garden……. he didn’t respond, lol!
Ok, so I might paint them white instead of hot pink, but I think they would make a great addition to my backyard… what do you think?
Plans for This Week
Keeping some of my list from last week, and adding a few…
- visit more family
- work on some more stitcheries
- write blog posts
- chat, and relax, and enjoy my time with family 🙂
- put up the next block in our Mystery Autumn Stitchalong
- enjoy, relax, and….. enjoy 🙂

Definitely! We had a garden shop come to our church women’s group a few years ago. She brought a pallet and showed how we could turn it into an herb garden,
Love these pallets with their bright happy pink. It sounds like you’re having a wonderful time.
My husband made a christmas tree out of one for our front garden. Cut it into a triangle shape which I spray painted with silver paint. I bought some of the solar fairy lights and wove them through the branches and our pallet tree comes out every Christmas.
People do very clever things with pallets-I like the signs but I really like the ‘dressed-up’ chairs!
I do like the upcycled pallets! I’m thinking a shelving unit for tools, gadgets and fat quarters 😉
Haha on your husband’s lack of reaction – my Hubs is the same way! I love pallets and like to recycle them for the garden, but he is less than enthusiastic. Those chairs with their fancy dress are hilarious.
There are so many fun pallet projects I see around the internet. Our #2 son thought he’d attempt a few but rapidly learned that they aren’t all that fun to work with because they’re filled with nails and staples that are a brute to remove and wreak havoc on a saw if you overlook one. He gave up on that particular idea although he really had wanted to make use of free wood.
