Monday This and That coming to you once again from the Middle East!
Mum and I are on our way home…. with just a few nights stop-over in Arabia.
We hadn’t planned on doing much these few days, just try to transition the jetlag a bit….
But today we went out because it is Mum’s 81st Birthday!
So I took her to one of the fancy malls:
I suggested she might want to go skiing, tobogganing or try out the dodgem cars for her birthday…
But she decided she might be too old for that… and it looked too cold…
So we just looked through the windows and then I took her to Debenhams instead…
Which was much more her cup of tea… and speaking of tea, we both adore tea sets, so we had to go into this shop:
Especially when I saw the window displays…
Oh my goodness… tea sets and Christmas!!! What more could I have asked for?? (Ok, maybe a Christmas quilt…???!!!)
So much eye candy, but looking at the prices, I wouldn’t dare use any of it even if I could afford it!
Isn’t the Christmas tree gorgeous… oh, and by the way – my sister already has her Christmas tree up………………………… what can I say……
Well, we did a lot of window shopping, but didn’t come back with anything exciting, except two little Birthday cakes:
We decided to share one today.. and then share the other tomorrow 🙂
I think Mum had a lovely day 🙂
Plans for This Week
- travel home
- get over jetlag
- put up the next part of our Mystery Autumn Stitchalong
- SEW!!!! I have missed my studio and sewing SEW much!!!!

Beautiful Christmas scene! No snow here. It does look cold!
Oh, the Christmas cakes look delicious!! What a wonderful time together to celebrate your Mum’s birthday!
Happy
Birthday to your mom! What an awesome trip the two of you have had! My sisters and I enjoyed several trips to the Netherlands with our Mom many years ago so we know what a Joy it was for both of you. Safe travels home.
Happy birthday to your Mum, and those shops seem quite unreal, especially in Arabia. See you soon. Take care and hugs.
Happy, albeit now belated, Birth Day wishes to your Mom! Looks like she (and you) had a perfect day. How I would love to see those tea sets in person because I’ve often thought I’d like a set of Christmas china (too late in my life to bother now).
Have a safe trip home!
What a lovely way to enjoy your trip home. Looks like a lovely way to celebrate your Mum’s birthday.
Oh that mall! What a gorgeous place. I love the Christmas displays and how wonderful you got to enjoy them with your Mum.
