Time to look at how things went last week.. and to plan this week!
Last Week’s This and That
Mum and I got back home last Thursday… and it’s always nice to be home!
Mum has slotted right back into life with no jetlag at all! I, on the other hand, have never had it this bad…. It’s funny, because going the other way I had none and mum did. But I always struggle coming back home. Last night was the first night I slept right through the night. I am just giving my body time to adjust and know it will all fall into place eventually.
We had quite a good flight home, everything went smoothly, and we are both so thankful that we had the opportunity to take those five week to visit family. I have some more posts to put up about our trip this week, and then it will be all back to normal!
While I was Gone
The garden has gone a bit crazy… like other places in Australia the past month, we had a lot of rain. On one of the bad days, DH was out digging trenches to get rid of the water as it was flooding our back veranda and threatening to go higher…
Here are a few photos that DH took after the rain stopped a bit and he’d dug trenches…
The back veranda was under water…
and running under the house to the front…
The trenches seemed to have done the trick and we didn’t get any water in the house, thankfully, although the roof has started leaking… ugh!
Yesterday we had terrible storms and constant rain all night, but no flooding thankfully.
The grass and weeds are growing like crazy, so I need to get out in the garden and try to tame some of it… as well as start my veggie garden! I’m looking forward to that!
This Week’s This and That
I still have a little bit to unpack and sort, but my main priorities are to get back into routine this week with cooking, cleaning, sewing and gardening!
And I want to write up the last posts from my travels… oh, and catch up on blog reading!!! It will be a busy week 🙂
Last but not least:
Monday Menu Plan:
As I have still been jetlagged, I haven’t done much cooking yet. But this week I am getting back into it. I did a bit of grocery shopping yesterday, and will do some more tonight… It’s amazing how much prices have gone up even in the short amount of time I’ve been gone! Time to stretch those meals!!
We were given a voucher to eat out at one of the local pubs last year… and it expires this week, so that will get used up tonight!
Monday – Eat Out and use up voucher
Tuesday – Silverside
Wednesday – Roast Pork
Thursday – Leftovers
Friday – Lamb Stew
Saturday – Leftovers
Sunday – Not sure yet
I hope you all have a wonderful week! Share your plans with us and link below 🙂
Have you got a bit of This and That to share? Then join in!
You don’t need to have your post formatted the same way as I do, but you can if you want… Just link your blog post containing a recap of last week, or the weekend, or your plans for this week…. or any bit of this and that you want to share with us!
Glad to hear you both arrived home OK. Good luck with trying to get your garden sorted. Mine has gone berserk as the weather just won’t play nicely & is quite weedy. I’ll talk to you this week. Take care and hugs.
So glad to hear that your DH was able to divert the water away from the house. We’ve seen some reports on the news here about all the flooding…seems like the weather has gone crazy all over the world. And they say global warming isn’t a thing.
I do fine going west but am messed up coming home to the east! Hope you give yourself the space to recuperate! I hope you own some wellies!
We got back Wednesday – I still have jetlag though last night was pretty good – hopefully near the end. I read that you should give yourself as many days as hours you have lost – made me feel better about taking so long to recoup. Measured quite a bit of rain here but nothing like you guys… crazy weather…
