My project for AccuQuilt Australia this month was a cute scrappy Teapot Cozy!
My inspiration came from the last Tea Cozy I made for the Foodie Blog hop this year…
The one I did for AccuQuilt did take a fair bit longer, because I used scraps to make a checkerboard style cover….
If you like postage stamp quilts, then you will like this tea cozy!
Using my Go! cutter obviously made the cutting go a lot quicker, but sewing all the little squares together did take some time.
Next time I will use some grid interfacing, if I can find one with a 1 1/2″ square grid. This way of doing it is less bulky than using the interfacing though, so I was still happy with it.
And here is the finished Scrappy Tea Cozy!
I think it turned out quite cute 🙂
I used scraps from my Lori Holt fabrics, and the background fabric was one of her Bee Basics…
I made it out to the studio today, but didn’t sew… there was a fine layer of dust over everything, so I started with a bit of a clean, and then started feeling dizzy again so I came inside.
Will this jet lag ever end? I suppose so, but I wish it would hurry!
This cozy is so pretty! Nice job on putting one together for us!
Thats a very cute tea cosy – happy colours. I think my jet lag is finally abating… it’s a horrible feeling isn’t it?

That tea cozy is soooo cute. I tell you, stop tempting me with new projects. 🙂 (But I did finish an old one today, so I’m close to being able to start a new one. 😉
Lovely tea cosy. Now if only i used a teapot for my cuppa’s i’d make one. 🙂
Your tea cosies are so cute (love the photo showing the Twinings tin that matches your cosy perfectly). We own a teapot that sits on the shelf and never gets used because we always just throw a teabag in a mug. The teapot is nice for when we have company but that doesn’t happen much anymore and the people that come prefer coffee anyway.
Now all I need is a pot, some pretty cups, and my Stash herbal tea collection. Well, one of out three isn’t bad! Thank you for the so-cute pattern.
