Christmas Mystery Stitchalong Week 2
Today we are adding a Christmas Tree!
This week I’ll be using these threads:
For the pot: DMC 869 (backstitch)
For the heart: DMC 349 (backstitch)
For the tree straight lines: DMC3346 (backstitch)
For the leaves: DMC 470 (Lazy Daisies) with only 1 strand of thread
For the stars on the pot: DMC 725 (straight stitch) with only 1 strand of thread
For the dots at the ends of the branches: DMC 725 (French or Colonial knots)
Strands of Thread
Please note that I generally use two strands of thread for all my stitching, but since the leaves and stars are quite small, I am using only one strand.
“HOW TO” FOR THE NEXT STEP IN THE STITCHALONG
Download the updated pattern below, print it out, and add to your stitchery by tracing the Christmas tree… and then start stitching!
Happy Stitching…… oh, just a question – do you have your tree up already?
Oh, so pretty! nice addition to the stitch-along!
Thank you for adding the stitch type and how many strands! I got a start on week one yesterday and have just a little bit of holly and the french knots to finish.
I don’t have my Christmas tree up, but looking forward to stitching up this sweet little tree.
Darn it Joy, I was thinking I might skip this one but you are making it toooooo cute!!
Tree Up …..oh yeah I have a 4 year old in the house. She is so excited. Thanks so much for the stitchalong and for adding the stitches you used this week.
I love the look of this…. sadly I am not keeping up at home …. it is very tempting though!! haha
Hugz
That wee tree is absolutely a charmer! I might be tempted to snag the pattern and use it on postcards next Christmas. Hmmm…..pondering….
I love the Christmas tree, this is so much fun. Thanks again
goodluck with your SAL…….
Lovely pattern – I’ll be making this one up, for us. Unusual for me, as I give away 99% of what I make. No, haven’t put the tree up yet, but hope to get it done tomorrow. Otherwise, we won’t have enough time to enjoy it! Merry Christmas to you…. Deb E
I am kitting this up to work on while I recover from kidney surgery next week. I haven’t put up a Christmas tree in many years. I do put out my Advent wreath and then the Nativity. My DH put up some Christmas lights outside along the top of the porch.
I realized today, when I filed week 3, that I’d somehow missed downloading week 2! I like this whole piece very much.
