time to look at a bit of This and That!
Last Week’s This and That
DD and I went away for a few days to a nearby town for a little break… it was a lovely relaxing mother and daughter time…. we read books and watched Enola Holmes 1 & 2…. I really love those movies, they just make me chuckle.. and now DD and I are going around the house saying… ‘Tis I!!…. (you need to watch them!)
I got a little time in the sewing room as well last week… I made a mess with my Go! cutter and the Hearts die…
Can’t show you what I made yet.. it’s secret 🙂 I’ll show you in February…. of course….
I put the binding on the other oval…. and it took Loki about 2 seconds to test it out…
And make himself at home…
It’s certainly become a colorful corner of my kitchen!
And that is about all I managed to get done in the sewing room….
Oh yes, and I went to the dentist… what I thought was a small filling that had fallen out, was apparently the tip of an iceberg and it turned out to be a big filling needing redoing and a big bill! Ugh…..
On the computer, on the other hand…
I worked really hard to get the Organize Your Home in 2023 Challenge up and running! I’m so pleased that it all seemed to have fallen into place and really encouraged by all those who have signed up! You are all going to keep me accountable and motivated! And I hope I will do the same for you…
This Week’s This and That
Once again, I have no work outside the home scheduled this week, so I am hoping I will get a few full days in the studio.
I didn’t do real well with last week’s to do list, so most of it is back on this week’s…
In the Kitchen
- Make tomato soup
- Try one new recipe and report back on here!
In the Garden
- Try to keep the plants alive in this heat….
In the Sewing Room
- Finish binding the tumbler quilt
- Choose threads to start appliqueing the chookies
- Work on the churn dash quilts
Blog & Biz
- Work on Shades of Blue Challenge
- Get 2023 BOM ready to post and share
That’s it from me today….
Have you got a bit of This and That to share? Then join in!
You don’t need to have your post formatted the same way as I do, but you can if you want… Just link your blog post containing a recap of last week, or the weekend, or your plans for this week…. or any bit of this and that you want to share with us!

Your tea cozy set is just beautiful. You have really done a great job on it all. The cart is nice by itself but you really put the right touches on the mats and tea cozy and the tea cups and saucers. I really like just looking at it. It’s sweet and inviting. Are you going to replace Loki with something else? LOL
Sorry about the dentist visit, I hate those! OMG I have that heart die and plan to do something very soon too!!
Your mother/daughter getaway sounds lovely. So glad you got the second mat in place for Loki! 😀
Reading the ’tis I’ bit made me smile because that’s what I always say when I’m calling one of my friends on the phone.
Loki (awwww) looks quite delighted with his cushy new perch.
I love that you repurposed that quilt for your tea cart. Blessings! Melva <3
I just love your tea cart, Joy! And Loki looks quite comfy on that second oval quilt!! It’s great you had some mother-daughter time. My daughter is so busy with my grands and hubby, but we do occasionally get a little time together! Have a great week! Thanks for linking up with Monday Musings today!
Another great Monday post. I should really try to be more organized. Off to pick blueberries again in about 15 minutes. Hope to come across soon with some. Talk soon, take care and hugs.
The toppers on the kitchen cart are just lovely – great plan to use that bright cheerful quilt….

Hi Joy! Those cute little hearts from your Go! cutter look so fun and perfect for the rapidly approaching holiday. And those oval placemats are just perfect for that corner table. They turned out just perfectly. Nice job! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
Your tea cart is perfect now. Great way to repurpose a much loved quilt. Those hearts are a fun tease. Looking forward to seeing what you create Joy. How nice to have mother daughter time. Good luck this week with your list.
Remembered! It’s actually Tuesday here, but so what, right? LOL The day wasn’t long enough for everything, and now the night is raining all night. It’s a nice sound.
