Back to a bit of This and That!
Last Week’s This and That
Other than working last week, a lot was happening around about the place…
The backyard is looking like a construction site because they finally came to start on DD’s Unit:
It’s so exciting! We’ve waited almost a year for this.. it’s part of a government housing scheme, and will give DD the opportunity to be a bit more independent while still being close to us.
Someone also came and dropped these off:
New windows for our house! Our current ones are falling apart…
I’ve done a bit of knitting, while watching the chooks…
…the weather has been so lovely… I think the worst of the heat is over and I’ve managed to survive yet another summer.
I picked some pears and nectarines from the trees on the empty blocks next door:
…and managed to fall down in the process and scrape my back again the fence… it could have been worse!
I also did some bulk cooking and got a few dishes in the freezer…
With work I had three clients last week, so that was pretty hectic and the reason for an absence in blogging! This week I only have two, so that will help… One of the clients last week I was going to morning and evening…
This Week’s This and That
Only two clients this week and none in the evenings, so I am hoping to get some fun sewing done! They are also starting with putting the windows in tomorrow, so that will be exciting!
I am going to join in on To Do Tuesday tomorrow with my list of goals for the week….
Have you got a bit of This and That to share? Then join in!
You don’t need to have your post formatted the same way as I do, but you can if you want… Just link your blog post containing a recap of last week, or the weekend, or your plans for this week…. or any bit of this and that you want to share with us!

It looks like you have a lot going on. I know you will be glad to have your daughter close and also to have her own place. Those windows really look nice. You will enjoy them. You got a nice basket of fruit. Will you be making jam or something with them? I think you got a lot done last week. Sometimes quilting isn’t in the calendar!
It’s nice the construction has started. It will be interesting to watch the progress, happy stitching!
How wonderful to go pick your own pears and nectarines, they look delicious!
You’ve been busy, even if you didn’t get to stitch! My mom used to make the absolute best pear preserves. We’d pick them and she would can them! Good memories. I know you are happy to have your daughter’s construction beginning and your new windows ready to install! Have a great week, Joy. Thanks for linking up with Monday Musings.
Sounds like you’ve had a very busy week. So sorry you fell in the middle of it though but glad you didn’t hurt yourself too badly.
Seeing the new structure for your DD made me think of all the tiny houses I’m seeing all over the internet these days. It seems to be a trend and I must admit I like it. I’ve looked at some of them and thought that I could easily live in one.
You have been busy! How exciting to get new windows and for DD to get new digs. I hope you didn’t hurt yourself too badly when you fell. Looking forward to seeing the construction progress.
Work can really get in the way of your crafting can’t it? lovely to have the building and new windows going on….

How excciting to have your daughter nearby! The mild weather is beautiful, isn’t it?! I am enjoying a perfect Spring that is mild, too!
Joy you have been busy and will be more so with working, renos AND a construction project. I can’t imagine how you have time to cook or sew with all you have going on.
