Welcome to Day 1 of the Rose Colored Glasses Sew It – Show It Challenge hosted by the lovely Carol from Just Let Me Quilt!
I have to confess.. I thought it was starting next week… and I hopped on the computer on the weekend to email Carol to apologize that I wasn’t going to make it due to all the happenings, funeral, etc… And then I saw it was tomorrow!
Needless to say, I have been a bit out of it….
So, rather than cause disruptions the first day of a blog hop – I decided to post a rose for you, one that you may have seen before, but if you are new, you haven’t 🙂
The Rose Colored Glasses Challenge
Our challenge was…
Are you a “Rose Colored Glasses” kind of person?
Do you think things are better than they really are?
Do you think positive most of the time?
Your sewn project must have one or more of the following:
Rose/pink fabric
Eyeglasses
Roses
Positive Words
My idea was to make an eyeglasses sewing case… because I have a case that is my favorite shade of pink…
and I’ve seen heaps of the sewing cases on the internet and have always been meaning to make one.
And I still will! Just not in time for this blog hop!
You see, I am a person who sees the bright side of life, even at the moment when everything seems to be rather overwhelming… I will get back into the sewing room – soon… !!!
A Rose For You
So instead of a rose colored glasses sewing case, I have a gift for those stitchers out there… a sweet embroidery rose to decorate something pretty:
It’s a different shade of pink again, but don’t you love that about the color pink? So many shades and all of them pretty!
Make sure you visit the others who are sharing their Rose Colored Glasses projects – I am sure they are going to be beautiful:
Thank you Carol for hosting another fun hop!
And thank you all for taking the time to visit!
That’s a very pretty rose!
I hope you’re able to get back in the sewing room soon! HUGS!
Really pretty embroidery. ‘Love it. Yes there are so many shads of the color pink. Like this year’s Pantone Color of the Year, Viva Magenta.
Goodness, typed an error in my blog address. It should be: https://homespunhannahblog.blogspot.com/ So sorry about that.
Thank you for the sweet rose embroidery pattern! It’s lovely.
Love this rose! Perfect for sharing in this hop! Thank you!
Oh Joy, you really have been through it. But your rose is lovely. And you are sharing the pattern – even better!
Joy so sorry about your loss.
Thank you for sharing your sweet rose. I haven’t done any hand work in a couple of years due to the neropathy from the chemo. My feelings are coming back and I think this rose will be a great jumping off point to see if I can do hold a needle again. So thank you.
Such a pretty rose! Thank you!
I’m so sorry life has dealt you a blow. Thanks for posting your sweet little stitchery in the midst of everything. What a fun little project to grab when you need something in your hands to work on.
I’m so sorry for the loss of your father-in-law, Joy. No matter the age of someone we love, the loss is always so hard. Thank you for sharing that beautiful embroidered rose. It is so lovely! Take care, sweet lady. xo

A wonderful solution, Joy. Your name says it all – you are a joyful person and times of sadness come to all of us, but you continue to bring joy.

Thank you for the gift of the rose. It will come in handy.
Yes, it can be hard to get back into the sewing room.
