Welcome to Day 3 of the “When Pigs Fly” challenge hosted by the lovely Joan from Moosestash Quilting!
PIGS, UFOS & WIPS
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I have many… many… many PIGS, UFOS and WIPS – but especially UFOS!
I actually counted them one year… after I did a 31 day series challenge all about UFOs… You can check that challenge out here:
31 Days of Quilting UFOS
That was a fun challenge and at the end of it I discovered I had about (ahem) 182 UFOS…
Now that was back in 2016 and since then I would hope I have finished some of them… but of course I have also made more 🙂
When Pigs Fly Challenge
Our challenge was:
Time to get those projects out of the bags, bins and closets. PIGS – Projects in Grocery Sacks, UFOS – Unfinished Objects, WIPS – Works in Progress. Come on, you know you’ve got em!
I must admit this was the first time I had heard of PIGS! Here in Australia we call “Grocery Sacks” – Shopping Bags or Grocery Bags
PISB or PIGB don’t sound as good as PIGS though!
My Project
I have UFOS that go as far back as 2008… I think… and maybe I should have picked an old one, but I decided to go for one that has been staring at me from my design wall… this little Christmas wallhanging:
Although it didn’t take long, I am so pleased that I actually did some fun sewing and finished a UFO… it’s now ready to hang up for Christmas:
Or for Christmas in July?
Maybe 🙂
Thank you Joan for helping me do some fun sewing this month… and hosting this fun challenge!
Please go visit the others who are sharing today:
Thank you for visiting today and I’ll see you back here on Friday with the last step in our Spring SAL!
Sweet little hanging! I enjoy embroidery and am saving your seasonal patterns. Thanks for sharing!
Love it! Your embroideries are so, so cute. I like the border you picked – it’s perfect!
Your sitchery is darling!
Beautiful finish Joy!
That little Christmas tree made from the daisy stitch is so darn cute!
Sweet embroidery. Lovely finish!
hehe I had the same thought re the acronym! Good on you finishing up the Christmas stitchery piece and clearing a spot on your design wall. It’s turned out really sweet.
That Christmas UFO is perfect and you’ll love having it finished for December this year. Why not Christmas in July? I made a Santa wall hanging and thought it would be up for the first year but now it’s been 2 or 3 years and I’m still not tired of it. 🙂
Love your wall hanging! The motifs are so cute! It’s great that you have this completed ahead of time.
Your Christmas wall quilt is adorable! Congratulations on your finish.
Glad you were able to finish your wall hanging! Now you just have to wait a while before you can legitimately hang him up! 🙂
I love how you finished off your stitching!
That fabric is so cute, and I love the red ric rac hanging around the edge. Great to finish something!
Your Christmas wall hanging is adorable. Isn’t it great to have a finish? Thanks for sharing.
Cute little stitchery – the bit of rick rack adds a great element.
This turned out really cute (and yes, Christmas in July IS a thing – or at least as far as I’m concerned, it is)
You do have a lot of projects! I am glad to see another Christmas finish in this hop….nice to know they will be ready when you need them. I did spend a few years cleaning the bulk of my PIGs out and am pretty good about keeping up. Next winter will be time for a real concentration on getting them out!
Love this stitched finish. I also love the others that are still on your wall calling out to you. You know that they will be yelling out at you way louder now that one of their own has crossed the finish line. Great job.
Great job on the finishing of the embroideries!
Too Cute! Thanks for sharing.
I have way too many projects on the go…… Goodluck finishing yours……
It’s never too early to make or finish a Christmas piece! I have a Christmas in July project in the works already! Thanks for sharing!
