I thought I’d give you a progress report on my version of the Fat Quarter Shop’s Everygreen Mystery Quiltalong….
I’m not using the kit, even though it is so pretty and I love it, but I decided to use my Cozy Christmas fabric stash from Lori Holt, and so far I am loving how it is coming together!

For week 1 I printed out the pattern and cut out all the squares… and I even typed up some letters to pin to each pile of cut outs:

How organized is that??!! Sometimes I amaze myself….
In no time I had the week 1 row up on my design wall:

This row is called “Tucked Under the Tree”
It was looking a bit lonely, so I was keen to start on week 2….

Week 2’s row is called “Popcorn & Cranberries Garland”. I didn’t print it out but saved it on my ipad and sewed it up from there… I still labeled everything though…

I must admit I am liking having the letters on there – makes it much easier to put together without trying to remember what size each piece is…
Row 2 joined row 1 on my design wall:

I am guessing those rows need to be sewn together, but I haven’t done that yet because they haven’t told us to… and just in case there is a surprise in between step, I thought I’d leave them there on the design wall for now!
I’m really enjoying this QAL!

Week 3 instructions went up yesterday, so I have saved them on my ipad, picked my fabrics and am ready to cut! Maybe I’ll get to that tomorrow….
Who else is sewing this?

Your Lori Holt fabric looks great! I like the 2 rows you have done. I am saving the patterns but have not decided if I am going to do this or not.
Hi Joy,
There’s no such thing as being *too* organized when it comes to a quilting project, and I’m sure that labeling it all takes away any stress, so you can get to the fun parts!
I am sewing along too! I still need to finish week two but I should get that done today.
I really like having my cut pieces labeled with letters as well. That’s one of my favorite things about FQS patterns. Often I will label other patterns because it keeps it so organized.
Your organization is brilliant. Thanks for sharing that idea. I can’t wait to see how you finish this up. I’m otherwise occupied (like with your quilt-along), so I didn’t join in, but it’s fun to see others’ progress.
Clever! I can see it growing now!
Looks like it just might be turning into a Christmas tree…maybe!
I wanted to, I planned to, but there is so much going on, and I’m already behind on the things I’ve started. So, I became the pattern saver person! I need to check that I haven’t missed any steps, and I’m saving the XS, too, though I don’t really like to do it. I might change my mind sometime!
