Welcome to Week 4 of our Christmas in July Mystery Quiltalong!
Are you ready for the next step?! Today we are going to use the units from Week 2 and combine them with a few more bits… here are mine ready to go:
Cutting The Christmas In July Mystery Quiltalong Week 4
From the Background Fabric:
Cut 16 (sixteen) 3 1/2″ squares
From the Feature Fabric:
Cut 4 (four) 61/2″ squares
Step 1
Arrange 1 of the 6 1/2″ feature squares, four of your units from week 2, and four of the 3 1/2″ squares like this:
Step 2
Sew them all together…. I don’t think you need any photos on how to do that.. you will end up with a block that looks a bit like this:
Make 4 of these units
And we’re almost done!
You can probably figure out how to put them together… but we’ll be doing that next week along with a possible border option…
Happy sewing!
With all the gallivanting I’ve done recently, I need to do some catching up – on this as well as on the gardening/harvesting. Busy week ahead!
I am confused. I thought last week was week 3. Is this one an additional week 3 or is it supposed to be week 4. I would like to know as I like to keep things in order.
Sorry for confusing you Susan, you’re right, it is week 4 and I have updated it! Thanks for letting me know! xx
I can maybe guess, but not being a sane quilter I fully expect I’d be totally wrong! Looking forward to the reveal to see if I’m right.
Thank you! I’ve just finished the 4 patches, so I’m way behind, but it doesn’t matter. It’s slowly getting done. =)
