a bit of This and That
Time to get back to a bit of a routine after Christmas in July and other happenings…
My chookies started laying a few weeks ago. I am getting between 3 and 6 eggs a day, all of assorted sizes…
I mostly let them free range, and sometimes after I’ve let them out of their fox proof coop I feel like I am being followed… I turn around and… sure enough, there are three adventurous chookies behind me!
The others stay close to the coop and don’t venture out as far!
They are very good chooks, even laying for me this past weekend when it has been, literally, freezing cold.. I’ve been waking up to this view from my kitchen window most mornings:
Despite being under the carport, my little car has been icing up as well…
Jack Frost had made such a pretty pattern yesterday morning, I had to take a photo…but it didn’t show up in the pic as well as I had hoped….
My kitchen table is still my sewing area at the moment… I’ve been doing some hemming for heat bag covers…
Not much other sewing progress, but I am hoping I’ll get some done this week…
And that is my this and that for today!
Have you got a bit of This and That to share? Then join in!
You don’t need to have your post formatted the same way as I do, but you can if you want… Just link your blog post containing a recap of last week, or the weekend, or your plans for this week…. or any bit of this and that you want to share with us!

Oh, fresh eggs! Cute chookies.
Frost on your car and grounds, wow! We are getting closer to fall, and with the hot weather we’ve been having, I’m ready (not ready for winter, however). Those chooks are so cute, and that bowlful of eggs is so pretty!
Ahhh, nothing like fresh eggs!!! With several weeks hitting 100F it is hard to picture frosty mornings! lol
Nice bunch of eggs! What do you do with all of them – lots of baking, eggs for breakfast, etc? I love the photos of the frost – oh I miss frost! 😀
When Is saw that big egg all I could think was ‘ouch’. Poor chookie!
Hello Joy, looks like very cold mornings there… it’s like early summer here at the moment… very strange… good chooks…. nothing like fresh eggs..
