Welcome to Day 1 of the Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange hosted by the lovely Carol from Just Let Me Quilt!
The Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange and Christmas Blog Hop
I’m so excited… it’s nearly Christmas, which as we all know is the “most wonderful time of the year”!! This year my main wish is that we get to celebrate together instead of having covid like last year!!!
I was ready to do some baking for this blog hop, but then I realized that I’ve already shared my favorite baking with you in past years of the Virtual Cookie Exchange 🙂
So instead I made something a bit different… and want to share it with you as a Christmas gift!
As you can see in the background, the Christmas tree is up…. and the Lego Advent Calendar has been opened…
So my gift and project for this blog hop? A Christmas Cookie Recipe Book:
My reasoning behind this is that I (and you) can make a cute little recipe book with all the recipes from this blog hop, and the past ones that Carol has hosted!
So I made recipe pages that can be printed as single or double sided, and recipe cards – again that can be single or double sided, cut out and gifted.
Christmas Lemon Shortbread Star Cookies
I love handwritten recipes – but since I can’t give all of you a handwritten recipe card, I have typed my favorite Star Christmas Cookie recipe that you can print and keep. I printed it out for myself and popped it on my fridge:
Now I am ready for Christmas baking in a few weeks… but hopefully by then I will have written up more recipes to join the one on my fridge!
Cutting and Printing the Christmas Cookie Recipe Book
I printed my sheets on slightly thicker paper than normal (120gsm), and then used my handy dandy quilting tools:
And my Happy Planner punch to do the holes:
I also printed them out a bit smaller (82%) to fit my Happy Planner:
You can print them out as is, or to whatever size fits your notebook/binder.
With the recipe cards, I just trimmed off 1/4″ around the green lines:
And a little less around the scalloped edge of the frame…
I hope you will join with me in making a lovely Christmas Cookie Recipe collection.. I’ll be sure to show you how mine is progressing!
Thanks for visiting today and thank you Carol for hosting this for us every year!
