Yeah… I know… we are well into January of this New Year!!! How did that happen, I wonder?!
Goodbye to Last Year
I was not sad to say goodbye to 2023… although it was better than 2022…
I think really that I can sum up last year in one word – busy! I was far busier than I expected with work, and spent way too little time in the sewing room. I am hoping that this year that will change!
I also battled with health issues, which I again hope will not be as bad this year.
But last year ended with a lovely Christmas with family… I got another Christmas Lego set:
And a friend and I did “some” canning…
Doesn’t it all look pretty with the Christmas tree sparkling in the background?!
Hello to A New Year!
I always get excited with a new year, don’t you? So far this year I’ve been too exhausted to be too excited (and I got another attack of vertigo)… but I am getting there slowly!
As I am writing this post, DH and I are here:
Since I still had to work between Christmas and now, I feel like this is the “real” start to my new year – a nice relaxing long weekend away!
We have found the perfect camping spot that is only an hour away from home… It’s quiet and has a beautiful view. We are both really enjoying it.
I was almost ready to bring Baby B (My Bernina 240) and some sewing, but then decided not to at the last minute. We still need to work out where things go in the van, and we don’t have a spot for Baby B yet… hopefully we will get there one day and she can come too….
The best thing about camping is that DH does the cooking 🙂
Breakfast has been particularly delicious….crumpets and a cup of tea…
Susan from Granny Smith’s Quilting might recognize the cutlery 🙂
Changes this Year
There will be some changes this year… with my life and the blog…. Last year I didn’t spend as much time here as I would have liked to, and felt like I was constantly behind with posting, answering comments, visiting other blogs….. so this year I want that to change. I will be sharing more about my plans for the year, possible BOMs, etc in the next week or two…
I am excited for the new year 🙂 There are so many UFOs and WIPs and New Projects to start!!! And this year I am going to make more time to do them!
I hope you have had a good start to the year so far… are you feeling excited?
Happy New Year! Time does speed away on us at times; I hope you’ve had 3 good weeks!
Happy New Year Joy. I was just about to email you to see how you were & up popped your blog post. It does look lovely where you are camping.
Happy New Year … Relax and enjoy x
So glad you are enjoying some fun time! Hope that your vertigo goes away completely. Do you make your own crumpets? It looks kind of like an English muffin pancake – lol! Looking forward to seeing your projects. I’m having trouble getting myself motivated!
Happy New Year! What a lovely camping spot you found!
Glad to hear you are getting back into the swing of things. Looks like a nice little vacation the two of you had! Loved the canning you managed to get done. Here in Alberta, Canada we have been in a major deep freeze! Last week or so we got down to -40 degrees with wind chill making it feel like -50. We just hunkered down and I didn’t do much but hubby had to clear our driveway of the snow we got. He did it all by hand so many short trips out and back in to warm up finger tips. It is now supposed to warm up again to above freezing. Crazy. Take care of yourself and looking forward to seeing your project.
Happy New Year and I hope your time away was just perfect. Looking forward to seeing what your plans are!
Happy New Year Joy, I hope 2024 is a good one for you. Enjoy your camping – that looks like the perfect spot.
I got the Cough/cold crud going around here after Christmas. Hope this is a good year for you….Nancy
Happy New Year Joy – here’s hoping it will treat us all well. Looks like you’ve started it in a good way with a lovely view from your campsite and perhaps it’s good that you couldn’t take your machine because now you have no excuse not to sit and relax.
Nice to “hear” from you again. Your camping spot does look lovely and relaxing. May 2024 be a blessed year for you!
It is so good for the soul to stop, and sit with no plans or lists, and just Be. I hope you were able to do this on your vacation Joy.
