Just a bit of this and that!
Last Week’s This and That
Home Life
Busy week again… my friend Liz brought me heaps of blackberries and cucumbers!
I divided the berries up into little bags of 250g each, for a total of 3.5kg!! And into the freezer they went:
The reason I froze them in packets of 250g is because I want to try out Skinnymixer’s Strawberry and Cream Instant Icecream, but substitute the blackberries. I also want to try it with strawberries, but will I won’t do that until they are on special.
But wait! There were more blackberries!!! Another two kilos became jam:
More pumpkin soup was made in the Thermie and put in old butter containers to freeze:
The cucumbers need to get dealt with this week…. it’s on my to do list below!
Creativity
I finished the cat blanket, yay!
Here it is on the coffee table…
It is in no way perfect – I am not great at crochet – but I think the cats will like it!
I’ve started another one… it’s a great way to use up scraps of wool, even if they get all tangled up…
I did a lot of sewing… put sashing on this secret project… (still secret sorry)…
And then I decided it was FINALLY time to open up this delicious fat quarter bundle:
and have a play with it with the Go! Hearts die…
Since it’s so hot, I brought my Go! Baby (now called Go!me) inside where the aircon was working beautifully… and we had a lovely afternoon together. More secret stuff. Sorry!
This Week’s this and That & To Do List
I thought last week was going to be cooler, it wasn’t. Nor is this week. We have really hit summer and I can’t wait till it is over!!
We should get a cool change in a few days. I’m looking forward to a bit of relief from the heat.
Later this week I’m taking mum away for some much needed R&R, so I don’t have a lot on my to do list this week.
Oh, I keep forgetting to remind you that there’s an Etsy closing down sale on at the moment:
Shop Pattern Sale 75% off
Shop Printables Sale 75% off
And that is pretty much it for all my news! Hope you have a wonderful week!

Love that cat blanket. Mine would probably rip it to shreds, but I might try it anyway. I’ll be interested to know what you do with the cukes. Enjoy your R&R with your Mum!
The fabrics in the fat quarter bundle are beautiful! Have a lovely time with your mother!
So many delicious things frozen and canned!!! You’re going to enjoy having those! Wonderful that you can get away with your mother!!!
That new FQ bundle is so very pretty! I don’t blame you for wanting to dig right into it!
Nice projects! I think that our cat might be next in line around here for her own blanket, since she has started to take a nap on the sofa each morning when I’m at home. I wonder what her favorite color is. . .
There’s a kitty out there that will love that blanket.
I saw on the news here that AU is in an extreme hot weather event. Hope it soon cools off!
Joy you have been very industrious. Great way to use up those blackberries and have some ready to go! What a cute cat blanket. Can’t wait to see the cuke progress and the reveal of your secret sewing projects.
Lots of lovely things happening there… Blackberry Jam needs scones and cream you know?????? I love the reusing of butter containers…. I must start doing that too…

Cat blankets are great ideas for those scraps.
All those organized lists sure did help you get a ton of stuff done this week.
Blackberries must not grow here very well because I have never heard of people growing them. I like to do infused water with them and blueberries – it tastes great and looks so pretty!
I remember summertime canning and freezing with my mom. Enjoy your time with yours. I surely miss mine! Thanks for linking up with Monday Musings.
