Just a bit of this and that!
Last Two Weeks’ This and That
As you would have noticed I didn’t host Monday This and That last week because it was my turn for the Give it a Whirl blog hop. I shared this quilt for that:
It was a great blog hop with quite a few of us doing 3D pinwheels – so much fun! You can see the full list here.
Spring Cleaning in Autumn
I always seem to want to spring clean in Autumn – probably due to all the years I lived in the Northern Hemisphere… March and April still say Spring to me… so as usual I have been sorting and cleaning.
First up in my kitchen.. I wanted to move a dinner set into the kitchen because I want to start using it more often:
I had to empty the top shelves out and then I wanted to clean the dinner set before I put it in.
Like I said, I want to start using it a bit more because I figure there is no point having a nice dinner set and not using it… so now that it is in the kitchen I am going to enjoy it!!
Pretty isn’t it? Actually, it’s two dinner sets, and I bought them at the opshop a few years ago…
Spring Cleaning in the Studio
I finally got into the studio last week!! It was a mess…
It’s a little bit better now, though I don’t have any after photos to who you yet. I must admit I got distracted playing with this bundle of fabric I bought from Judy:
Hopefully, by next week I’ll have some progress in the studio to show you.
Sylvie is Camping
DH and Sylvie are off camping…. I wanted to go, but I had some appointments I couldn’t get out of…
Sylvie looks like she is doing fine…
Note her bed is on the floor………. and she is on DH’s bed…. not spoiled at all!!!
She’s been out for a few walks and is getting braver bit by bit:
She’s still not used to loud noises, but she is getting better.
Home Matters
Last week was also the first time I co-hosted Home Matters. I wanted to tell you a bit more about it because I think we are all going to really get a lot out of it.
It’s basically a bit like Monday This and That – a place where you can link up your blog posts to share….
But while Monday This and That is more informal and about, well, this and that, haha, Home Matters is focused on the home.
So for those of you who are not bloggers – it is a great place to find new recipes, DIY projects, tutorials, home decor ideas, and all those kinds of things.
For those of you who are bloggers, you can share your recipes, DIY projects, tutorials, etc!!
It is a weekly link party and there are usually over 100 blog posts shared, so plenty of inspiration for all of us!
I do hope if you are a blogger and a regular follower you will share some of your posts in this link party. And if you are not a blogger, I hope you will visit some of the links and be inspired!
This Week’s This and That
Well of course this week we are coming up to Easter! I am hoping that I can join DH and Sylvie for a few nights camping, but we will see….
It will be more of a family week for me, as I am sure it will be for you too…. so I’m not even going to make a to-do list this week.
New BOM
Our new bom starts this week!! So stay tuned!
I hope you have a wonderful week!
Have you got a bit of This and That to share? Then join in!
You don’t need to have your post formatted the same way as I do, but you can if you want… otherwise just link to any blog post on any topic and share it with us!

Those dishes are very pretty, enjoy using them!
Thanks for sharing your sewing room. Mine looks similar right now except that I have spread out my sewing room into 4 rooms (3 bedrooms and an office)! I am in the process of condensing everything into one room. We’ll see how that goes. I got a kick out of Sylvie. She is doing fine because she is with her daddy! She might not have done so well if he had left her at home.
Those dishes are so pretty, I’d display and use them too. Enjoy playing with that pretty fabric bundle! Glad Sylvie is enjoying life with you. 🙂
I agree with you about using the ‘good’ dishes. A couple years ago I was searching for a new set of everyday dishes but couldn’t find anything I particularly liked. I remembered that I had stored away my mothers ‘good’ dishes that were very expensive and now discontinued. I know my family won’t want them because they can’t go in the dishwasher. So I hauled them out and we’re using them every day.
Why is it kitchen and sewing spaces get so messy? Did you find projects you had forgotten about?

Love sitting with a cuppa and reading your posts filled with the adventures you are having
Great job on the cleaning and organizing project both in the kitchen and the studio! Sylvie sure looks happy!
