Welcome to Day 3 of the April Showers Blog Hop hosted by the lovely Joan from MooseStash Quilting!
Our challenge was:
Late snow showers, rain showers, baby showers, wedding showers.
What do you like to shower everyone with?
As usual, I misread the challenge and thought it was about flowers, haha!! So I made this apron with pretty spring or summer flowers:
With all of us in the southern hemisphere in Autumn and heading for winter, I thought a bright and cheery apron was perfect to keep spring and summer in the kitchen!
I made the apron as a project for Accuquilt Australia and used some of my dies to make the pockets and waistband…
Freddie, my vintage dress form, modeled for me:
I will be writing up a tutorial for it one day, but for now you can download the free pdf pattern from the Accuquilt Australia blog:
Now talking about flowers… I guess I am kind of showering you with them this year with our free block of the month “Say it With Flowers”... I am going to be posting the updated Block 1 tomorrow, and Block 2 on Friday, so make sure you come back for that!
In the meantime, check out these other bloggers who are showering us with great projects today:

Thank you Joan for hosting this hop and thank you all for visiting!
Lovely apron, Joy! We all need flowers to brighten every day so I think it’s perfect for the hop!
Oh Joy, what a sweet apron that is. Those flowers definitely come after those April showers. I must say I love Freddie! Enjoy your fall.
What a pretty apron Joy! I finished my first block yesterday and got the embroidery part stitched last night. Looking forward to the next block. 🙂
Great apron. I love that flower fabric.
Very pretty apron! Thanks for sharing!
Your apron is beautiful and would make a perfect gift to shower on someone. I love the pretty fabrics! Thanks for sharing, Joy!
The apron is super and those that know can attest to fact that flowers love ‘April Showers’. It’s perfect.
What a very pretty apron! Nice job even if you got the theme a bit sideways! lol
Very cute apron. Thank you for the free block pattern too.
I, for one, am glad you misread the instructions! I might be tempted to make an apron (or two) for gifting so thank you.
I adore this apron and the saying here is “April showers bring May flowers” so it definitely works with the theme. I also just hopped over to your block of the month coming up – it is really sweet.
Showers of flowers on that cute apron! Thanks for sharing.
Love the apron, Joy! Those flowers are a product of April showers so that counts in my book! LOL Thanks for sharing.
I have reinvented more than one of these hop expectations with my creations. Love your apron and how beautiful the flowers have grown I’m sure with the help of April showers.
Pretty apron, I love that fabric.
That is a beautiful apron, and springtime does make me think of flowers, so I think you fit the theme just fine.
