The weeks of advent are going by quickly with week 3 here already….
Today we are virtually lighting the candle of Joy:
This Advent series is in memory of my dear blog friend Susan who gave us Advent inspiration each year. You can read her old Advent blog posts here.
What is Joy?
The Oxford Dictionary defines joy as:
a feeling of great pleasure and happiness
Chat agrees and adds this:
Unlike fleeting moments of pleasure, joy often comes from meaningful experiences, connections, or a deep sense of well-being.
We may have a different understanding of the word “joy” but we can all agree that it is something that we associate with Christmas. We all want to have a joyful holiday season with family and friends!

Advent Journal and Reading
Have you downloaded the free Advent journal and reading plan? This week is of course focused on peace.
Advent Practical Preparations
It’s time to get our home ready for the celebrations… yes, I mean we need to do some cleaning… Better this week than next, because next week is a short one with Christmas day in the middle of it!
We will also make a rough schedule for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and a cooking schedule of when everything needs to go in the oven…
This week let us think about how we can bring joy to the lives of our friends and family, and our Christmas celebrations!
Lovely post Joy, thank you for the reminders to think of others. Isn’t it sad I need to remind myself of that, especially in this season.
Another great post Joy – thank you. My joy in Christmas comes from making things for my friends and family and I truly believe that it IS better to give than receive.
