Happy New Year! How is the new year going for you so far? It’s going pretty quickly for me!!!
This year I thought we’d do something a bit different.. I don’t usually have themes for the year, even though sometimes I do have a word for the year… but I thought we might continue a bit from our Advent series and pick one of those words… JOY….
As we saw in our advent post about joy, it is defined as:
a feeling of great pleasure and happiness
and
Unlike fleeting moments of pleasure, joy often comes from meaningful experiences, connections, or a deep sense of well-being.
This year I named my planner “Fill Your Days With Joy” and I have “joy” quotes on the divider pages that are in the members area.
I want to fill my days with joy this year, and yours as well!
So often I feel like I get bogged down with everyday life, my to do lists, my commitments to family, friends and work… and I miss out on moments of possible joy.
This year I want to try to focus more on receiving joy and giving joy.
One of the quotes in the planner is short and sweet:
Scatter joy!
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
I thought that would make a fun stitchery, so we are starting the year off with that! I’ve also included an option of adding some applique… which I will be doing…
I’ll be posting that tomorrow!! It will be free until the end of March.
And throughout the year I’ll be making some more embroideries to go with our theme.
I also have some studies, planners, and other printables on joy to give you. Some are for free, others are just for the members. But there is something for everyone!
Each month, we will be doing a joy “challenge” of sorts. I will post the challenge on the first Sunday of the month. I’ll just be giving you a printable to fill in throughout the month with a certain way to add joy into our lives, or others’ lives.
January’s challenge is a gratitude one. The challenge is to write down three things every day that we are grateful for. One or two is fine too! And then at the end of the month reflect on the month.
I know we are already over half way through January, but gratitude is something that can be continued throughout the year.
There is a gratitude journal for you to use if you would like to join in on the daily challenge:
I hope you are excited about adding more joy into your life this year!
